My hubby had been buying sausage gravy and biscuits and decided to try his hand at making his own sausage gravy. He said it’s really good. We use Pillsbury Grands for biscuits, until we are good at making those.
He took the extra and froze it to use next time they make biscuits.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork sausage
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 1/2 cups milk
Instructions
- Cook sausage until brown. Add in flour and mix until like a paste.
- Stir and slowly add in milk. Continue to stir.
- Allow to thicken.
- Serve on top of your biscuits, (we used Pillsbury Grands)

I love this kind of gravy! When I go to Cracker Barrel I always get something with the gravy. Now I can make my own? Oh dear!

You have no idea how I miss American sausage! You wouldn’t think there would be much of a difference in New Zealand but THERE IS!
The cows and pigs and chickens are all raised very healthily here and there is not a bit of fat left to fry an egg in. I can make the gravy, but the sausage leaves a lot to be desired!

Your husband is a gem! …From the looks of the photo and recipe, also a great cook. With supervision, this looks great for kids who are just learning to cook because there’re only a few ingredients. Thanks for sharing it! Visiting from Getting To Know You Blog Hop.
